Unelected Lords are at it again. They’re doing everything they can to stop Labour’s landmark Employment Rights Bill from becoming law. They’re stopping workers from gaining the key new rights that are in the Bill – like the right to sick pay from the first day you’re off sick.
Under Labour’s plans, workers would start to benefit from day one sick pay from April next year, but the constant attacks on the Employment Rights Bill could push that back for who knows how long.
